Raúl Ángel Valandra Yuca:
A Journey of Life and Passion

Raúl Ángel Valandra Yuca, our founder and lead guide, has a story that reflects a deep love and connection with Inca culture and the beauty of Cusco. Born in a community in the Sacred Valley of Cusco, Raúl spent his first ten years immersed in the rich cultural heritage of the Andes, where he learned and experienced firsthand the ancestral traditions and customs.
At the age of ten, Raúl faced a significant challenge: the death of his mother. His grandmother, facing economic difficulties and with the responsibility of a 12-year-old son, was unable to provide the necessary support for his education and well-being. Thus, Raúl and his siblings were sent to an orphanage, an experience that, though difficult, became a transformative opportunity for him. In the orphanage, Raúl discovered new perspectives and opportunities for his future.
At thirteen, the arrival of Viviana and Avishai marked a turning point in Raúl’s life. These mentors taught him the importance of caring for Pachamama, Mother Earth, and helped him reconnect with his ancestral roots. During this time, Raúl also learned English and began working with foreigners, exchanging customs and sharing stories. This experience sparked his passion for tourism and culture.
After graduating from high school, Raúl served a year in the military, a period that complemented his training and strengthened his character. He then pursued studies in tourism with the goal of becoming a licensed guide. His love for the history and culture of Cusco led him to become the sole guide for our agency, dedicating his life to sharing the wealth of Peruvian heritage.
Today, Raúl Ángel Valandra Yuca is committed to showcasing the vibrant reality of our country to our visitors. His mission is to share the history of the Incas and pre-Inca cultures, as well as to explore both the well-known sites of Cusco and lesser-known, more mysterious places. With a unique perspective and sincere passion, Raúl invites everyone to discover the magic of Cusco through his eyes, offering an experience that goes beyond the conventional and reveals the true essence of our land.
