City Tour Cusco

Explore Saqsayhuaman and Qenqo, plus the less touristic Temple of the Moon and Temple of the Monkey

9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This tour is different from the classic city tours of Cusco. We will visit Saqsayhuaman and Qenqo, which are popular tourist attractions, but we will also explore the Temple of the Moon and the Temple of the Monkey. These temples have a lot of history and mystery and are much less visited than the other two.

We will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Plaza de Armas, and our transportation will be waiting for us at the nearby Plaza Regocijo, just about 3 minutes away. We will start by visiting Saqsayhuaman. We will arrive at 9:20 a.m., where we will have an hour and a half to explore and learn about this historic site. We will visit the most important points of the site, where you can marvel and wonder how and why such massive structures were built, with some stones weighing more than 80 tons.

At 10:20 a.m., after appreciating Saqsayhuaman, we will head to Qenqo, which is 10 minutes away. We will arrive at Qenqo at 10:30 a.m. This is a very special place from the Inca period, and we will have a 1-hour tour as the site is relatively small.

At 11:10 a.m., we will proceed to the Temple of the Moon, which is 10 minutes from Qenqo. The route will offer beautiful views of green areas, Inca constructions, and a small artificial lagoon from the pre-Hispanic era. We will arrive at the Temple of the Moon at 11:40 a.m., where you can learn more about the mysterious Inca culture and visit some of its rock-carved altars. After a brief explanation, we will head to the Temple of the Monkey.

We will reach the Temple of the Monkey at 12:00 p.m. via the Inca path. This site offers even more mystery and history about the Incas. After the explanation, we will have half an hour to enjoy the site, rest, and have some refreshments. At 12:40 p.m., we will continue along the Inca path to the main road, where we will arrive at 12:55 p.m.

Our transportation will be waiting at the main road. We will finally return to the Plaza de Armas at approximately 1:20 p.m., when the tour will end.
