Sacred Valley Tour

If you’re looking to explore Cusco in more depth, this tour is perfect for you. On this tour, we will explore the significant importance that the Sacred Valley had for the Incas.

The Sacred Valley of Cusco, thanks to its climate and fertile soils, allows us to appreciate Andean potatoes, corn, fruits, and vegetables.

Chinchero

Meeting at the Plaza de Armas at 6:30 a.m. We will depart from Cusco at 7:00 a.m. towards Chinchero, a district of Urubamba. Here, we will visit a very important archaeological site from the Inca era, notable for its massive terraces and impressive architecture. Ancient farmers used to graze their camelids here, and a tradition still observed today is the production of chuño (dehydrated potatoes), made possible by the area’s low temperatures.

After our visit to Chinchero, around 9:30 a.m., we will head to a textile center where you will learn about the traditional weaving processes of the Cusco highlands.

Moray

At approximately 10:40 a.m., we will arrive at the Moray archaeological complex. This site is filled with scientific mystery as the Incas experimented with plants brought from different climates. This is known because seeds of various species were found at this location. Its depth and circular shape create microclimates.

Salt Mines

At around 11:40 a.m., we will reach the salt mines located in the town of Maras. This site was very important during the Inca era as it provided salt, which was used to enhance the flavor of food and preserve meat, such as charqui (dried meat). Today, the pools created by local families have formed a natural beauty.

Lunch

We will have lunch in Urubamba at approximately 1:00 p.m. We will offer a buffet filled with local dishes since we are in the main production center of vegetables.

Ollantaytambo

We will arrive in Ollantaytambo at approximately 2:30 p.m. This place is the most important in the Sacred Valley of the Incas as it still maintains its Inca urban layout.
